Echoes of History: Inspiring Civic Action and Democracy Building

Friday January 23

Other dates...

9:00 AM  –  6:00 PM

As a growing tide of authoritarianism echoes some of the most troubling chapters in our nation’s history, history must inform our response to the present. The Democracy Center at JANM will bring together thinkers, artists, organizers, and civic leaders to confront authoritarianism with clarity and courage and to imagine how we might build a democracy that endures. The day-long symposium will move from recognizing the threats before us, to learning from communities actively resisting them, to envisioning new civic spaces and shared legacies for the future.
